Elica Industrial Pumice Mining and Production Company, leveraging domestic research and development, reverse engineering, and technology transfer, successfully produced stone-based lightweight pumice and lightweight concrete products. The company’s growth and development process can be presented as follows:

Initiation of Research and Preliminary Studies (1994–2014)

Commencement of evaluations on lightweight construction products by Dr. Naser Hafezi-Moghaddas in 1994.

Initial studies and scientific investigations were conducted by a team of university professors in 2014 to identify suitable areas for extracting raw materials.

Technology Development and Patent Registration (2016–2020)

Achievement of the technology for producing lightweight structures through the firing of shale rock in kilns in 2016.

Acquisition of the first exploration license and design of an optimized kiln in the same year.

Start of pilot-scale industrial production with the issuance of an establishment license and operating permit in 2017.

Registration and exploitation of the second mine in 2019.

Improvement of product quality, acquisition of technical certification, the right to use the standard mark, and initiation of studies by the Building Research Center in 2019.

Patent registration of the industrial pumice production process in 2019, approved by the Iran Concrete Research Center.

Patent registration of stone-based lightweight aggregate production in 2020.

Mass Production and Infrastructure Development (2019–Present)

Commencement of mass production at the Kavian Industrial Zone (Fariman) plant in 2019, continuing for five years.

Opening of the main factory on Tangolshour Road in 2021 and the launch of large-scale pumice and lightweight block production, which is still ongoing.

Acquisition of the operating license for industrial pumice and lightweight concrete products at the end of 2020.

Organizational Expansion and Establishment of a New Company (2020)

Registration of a new industrial pumice mining and production company by the board of directors of Chakad Kansar Kavan Elica in 2020.

Acquisition of an establishment license for the new company in the same year.
